Licensing Japan & Toronto footage, the short version

Who this library is for

If you are cutting a travel documentary, a city promo, a real-estate film, or a brand spot that needs Japan or Toronto on screen — without the budget to put a crew on location — this is the catalogue I point people to. It is built by Sacraw Studios, an independent Toronto studio that shoots every clip itself on location in Canada and Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Mount Fuji and Hakone, plus the Toronto skyline and waterfront. It is not a contributor marketplace; nothing enters the library that the studio did not film. That is why it holds hundreds of clips instead of hundreds of thousands — and why it does not look like everyone else's b-roll.

What you actually download

Every purchase delivers the same file regardless of license tier: a full-resolution Apple ProRes QuickTime master — 4K minimum (3840×2160 landscape, 2160×3840 vertical), with many clips at 5K, 6K or 8K where the source allows. No watermarks, no re-encodes, no quality tiers. Each product page carries a watermarked preview you can watch in full before buying, so you can judge framing, motion and grade with confidence. Some clips were shot in log; if you need the ungraded flat profile, the studio will tell you whether it is available for your clip.

How buying works

This page is the window; checkout, licensing and delivery all happen with the studio at sacrawstudios.com:

  1. Pick a collection or clip here — links open the studio's store in a new tab.
  2. Choose your license tier — Social, Commercial or Broadcast — on the product page. The tier table above mirrors the store's own terms.
  3. Check out in your local currency. Prices quoted on this page are CAD.
  4. Download immediately: a secure link arrives by email via Fileflare, the studio's delivery platform, and your files stay available from your store account page.

Licenses are worldwide and perpetual, and are held by the legal entity using the footage — if you are a freelancer cutting for an agency, the agency buys the license. If a project outgrows its tier, you upgrade by paying the difference; there is no admin fee and no need to re-buy the clip.

Quick answers

Which license tier do I need?

Personal projects, school work, organic social and YouTube channels under 100K subscribers — Social. Client or agency work, corporate video, monetized YouTube of any size, and paid social under $50K spend — Commercial. National TV, streaming originals, theatrical, billboards, or campaigns without spend caps — Broadcast. The store's pricing page has the full coverage matrix.

Can I use clips in client projects?

Yes — with a Commercial or Broadcast license. Those tiers explicitly cover work produced for third-party clients, with no separate license needed per client. The Social tier does not cover client work.

Can I preview a clip before buying?

Yes. Every product page includes a watermarked preview video you can watch in full before purchasing.

What am I not allowed to do?

You may not resell, redistribute or sublicense the raw footage files themselves — clips are licensed for use within a production, not for standalone redistribution or stock resale. Clips tagged “Editorial Use Only” are limited to news, documentary, educational and journalistic contexts — never advertising.

What file format and resolution do I get?

Apple ProRes QuickTime masters — the production-grade format used in broadcast and cinema post. Every clip is at least 4K; the exact resolution is listed on each product page. Delivery is instant after checkout.
