Love hotels: book a Stay, understand a Rest
“Rest” is a timed short stay; “Stay” is an overnight package. Compare the complete overnight price and permitted hours with a regular hotel on the same date. A cheap short-rest sign does not quote a whole night.
Before relying on one for the night
- Check the exact property, room category and date. Overnight start times, checkout, weekend/holiday prices and extension fees vary.
- Ask whether you can reserve the overnight package and what happens if your flight is late. A walk-in plan has no room guarantee.
- Confirm that the hotel accepts your party: solo travellers, number of guests, ages and any guest restrictions. Do not infer a policy from the building’s appearance.
- Ask whether you can leave and re-enter, whether payment is needed before going out, and whether you can store luggage before the overnight window.
- For multiple nights, ask whether you must check out each day, move rooms or pay for daytime hours.
- Check smoke-free availability, room access, lifts, payment methods and cancellation terms.
A real example of why property rules matter

Compare the usable night
Suppose one rate starts at 10 PM and another at 3 PM. Before choosing, price the hours and bag storage you actually need, plus any extension or extra-person charges. Use the final quote for your party; do not assume the sign is per person. Room size, cleanliness and amenities vary too.
